Ibtikar's "SHELEADS" project has been dedicated to promoting social entrepreneurship, cooperative models, and cooperative enterprise principles among women Palestinian refugees in the Southern West Bank. Our work has aimed to address social and economic challenges faced by Palestinian refugees daily, supporting their socio-economic conditions and contributions to well-being and community development.
Over 11 months, participants have received training to enhance their personal skills, business acumen, and knowledge of social entrepreneurship and cooperatives. Through design thinking approaches, participants have developed sustainable solutions to local issues, supported by financial resources to kickstart these initiatives. SHELEADS II, launching in October 2023, is the natural evolution of our successful SHELEADS initiative. Building upon the achievements of the first phase, SHELEADS II is dedicated to providing ongoing support to Palestinian refugee women residing in the refugee camps of the South West Bank.
